At Reebok, they don't believe that " a blocker is just a blocker".  It is a key piece of equipment for maximum coverage and better stick handling.  The 18K blocker is built with these key elements in mind.

The blocker board is one of the thicker boards on the market.  It is made of an .8mm poly, a 1" PE foam, and a 1/4" HD foam that creates a lightweight, solid blocking and coverage surface.  The board position is centered over the goalie's backhand giving it a nice, balanced feel.  The nose of the board is beveled for paddle down play.

The side hand protection is substantial.  It features a large, HD foam inside thumb and wrist blocking surface, with a softer air pillow between the palm thumb and the side hand board.  In addition, a smaller HD foam forefinger protector sits beneath the main side shield to help protect against pucks that ride up the paddle towards the palm.  Goalies who turn their hands outward while in the buttefly position will enjoy the substantial amount of protection and coverage afforded by these shields.

The palm is made of durable gray nash, as well as mesh finger gussets for ventilation.  The fingers are wrapped on the back and the sides by HD foam shilds, and they also feature thinner foam padding on the back of the finger stalls for added protection.  A single wrist strap provides a custom fit, and a detatched cuff allows for great wrist mobility.

  • 6th Hole coverage with large inside thumb and wrist blocking surface
  • 7-piece wraparound finger protection that molds to the paddle of the stick
  • Durable sythetic leather palm with grip for easier stick handling
  • Pre-curved shape to prevent puck skip over

Measure your hand from the heel of the palm to the tip of the middle finger, then consult the chart below to find the size that will work for you.

 Key to a Proper Fit:

The blocker should be fitted based on hand size. The goalie's fingers should be no more than 1/4" from the end of the fingers in the palm. If the fingers are too long, chances are the hand tabs that tie down the palm to the blocker are too large. This will cause the blocker to wobble, tilt or rotate on the goaltender's hand, seriously affecting control while limiting coverage (blocking surface).

What is the dimensions of the 18k int. blocker? How much of a size difference from the sr. 14k blocker? And would this be ideal for a player who needs the protection of Sr. but the size of intermediate?
Asked by: Anonymous
All Reebok P4 line INT blocker boards measure 14"L x 7"W, and the SR boards measure 15"L x 8"W. Yes - if you need the protection of a SR but the size of an INT glove, then I'd go with the 18K for sure. The 14K line is designed for a beginner to INT level goalie. At your advanced level you'd be better off with an 18K.

What is the differance between the white/white/blue version and the white/white royal version of the Reebok 18K Intermediate glove/blocker. Is the "blue" a darker blue/navy?

The "blue" and "royal" are the same item. They are both "royal" blue.

On the white/red/royal option, the line graphic closest to the word "Reebok" is royal, the two center line graphics are white, and the inside line graphic closest to the inside edge of the blocer is red.
