New for 2012, the Bauer Elite Goal Skate takes the place of the Supreme One80 goal skate from 2010 but features several upgrades.

Like the Supreme One80, the Elite Goal Skate has an anaformable tech mesh outer construction that is both durable and light weight.  However,  the Elite also features ribs on the boot for better boot structure and flex integrity, and these upgrades have made the boot as stiff as the top of the line model for 2010 - the Supreme One100.  Additional padding in the ankle area and comfort foam under the footbed allows make for a very comfortable fit.  Upgrades to the ankle collar make it more stiff and more durable, allowing it to maintain it's supportive properties over time.  A pro felt tongue with additional padding on the outside helps prevent lace bite.

The cowling features a 4mm Tuuk Super Stainless Steel runner as well as the popular VERTEXX cutout.  Because of the VERTEXX cutout and the taller support position, goalies can realize a 28% increased attack angle when compared to a standard goal cowling.  This means that goalies can take a deeper stance, and keep the blade on the ice longer when pushing laterally, before the cowling "bottoms out" on the ice.  The runner on the Vertexx cowling can be easily replaced by simply loosening the screw at the toe of the blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet sweet skates I got rid of some heavy clunky Grafs Supra Goalie skates for these slipper like fitting Bauer Elites. Fit great right at the start and way lighter than Grafs. The Vertexx cowling rocks and can lean hard to the inside without skate kicking out.Great tongue padding and no lace bites either. I take these to public skates with my son to practice my skating and they are very easy to move in and skate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent skates I've had these skates for about a year now, and i really like them. They have performed great for me and gave me the confidence to succeed in my level of play. I would highly recommend these skates to anyone who is looking for a reliable pair of goalie skates at a fairly reasonable price. You will definetly the best quality for your money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good performance, slightly uncomfortable at first Full disclosure - I came from an old Bauer 7000 to this skate so it felt really stiff and somewhat uncomfortable at first. I had them baked twice and that helped, but in the end I had to have the inside ankle bone area punched out to make them more comfortable. The skates do come with foam underneath the footbed, and that helps, but the footbed itself is not good at all. It's paper thin and really didn't do anything for me. I've since switched to the Graf Sidas footbed to solve the problem. Vertexx cowling is fantastic. It's really helped my lateral movements and I won't go back to a lower, more traditional cowling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than imagined! Simply put these skates are great! I was upgrading from an older pair of CCMs so the first thing I noticed was they are VERY light. They are also VERY comfortable! I had mine baked and they fit perfectly from the very first lace up. Zero blisters! My first skate my feet did get tired from the new stance, but I didn't even notice it on my second skate just a few days later. I skate 5-6 times a week and have had my teammates and opponents both comment that my side-to-side game has greatly improved, and that I find to be the highest compliment for them! Get yourself a pair, you won't regret it!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bauer Elite goalie skate I've had these skates since July and they are still in unbelievable shape. The sides are still incredibly stiff as if they were out of the box. They're very comfortable although at times the inside wall of the big toe can be slightly uncomfortable. I should note that I did not heat mold these. The Vertexx cutout thing for pushing off looks cool, but I'm not entirely sure if it makes a difference. I'm really happy with these. The price is maybe a little more than what I wanted to spend. The Elite pro skates are really comfortable, but I didn't want to drop $600 on skates.

bauer 7000 v bauer elite or performance

Which bauer skate compares closest to 'old school' bauer 7000's which I love?
Asked by: Heipfam
The Bauer Performance would have a soft boot like the 7000's did.

Bauer Elites or Supreme One100s?

I am looking at purchasing new skates but I am unsure on which to purchase. What are the major Pros and Cons of these skates and which one do you prefer?
Asked by: Thomas
i tried on both and personally i liked the elites a lot better than the one100's because they fit my feet better and were not as expensive as the one100's. But i also have wider feet and the elites fit my foot and were not as narrow as the one100's
