CCM Premier R1.5 Junior Goalie Leg Pads

The Premier R1.5 Leg Pads are an excellent set of pads for developing tenders. Catered specifically to the developing player, the R1.5 are super light weight, easy to strap into, and offer ample protection to keep them safe. Much of the pad is designed around enabling quick responsive actions, and aiding players in moving in and out of the butterfly with a softer more shallow boot and a loose fitting calf strap headlining those changes.  The 5-hole can be tricky for young players. So, in addition to their pre-curved single break core, CCM included a soft foam knee wrap that aids in closing the 5-hole and is exclusive to their Jr. and Yt. models. The pads are break free as the outer flex provides maximum coverage, and a 60 degree boot angle naturally pushes rebounds away with the help of a PE foam knee raiser that seals the pad to the ice. CCM and Leferve have been working together to make some of the most beloved pads in the industry with input from some of the best pros in the league. Get a head start and become part of the tradition now.

Pad Style:Blocking/ButterflyThe style of play ("Reaction/ Hybrid" or "Blocking/Butterly") that the pad was designed for. "Reaction/Hybrid" pads tend to be more flexible and have more breaks - great for those with a narrow butterfly. "Blocking/Butterfly" pads tend to have fewer breaks and are more rigid - better for goalies with a wider butterfly.
Knee Breaks:0 External, 1 Internal (below knee)Breaks in the foam & material of the outer roll. Pads with zero (O) knee breaks tend to be more rigid and have less flex, while pads with one (1) or two (2) knee breaks are "softer" and have more flex built into them.

CCM utilizes a "Floor to Knee" fit guide to determine the proper leg pad size to meet your needs.  To determine your "Floor to Knee" measurement, measure the distance from the floor (in bare feet) to the middle of the knee cap, straight up, knees slightly bent.  Find this measurement in the chart below, then look at the number above it to find your pad size.

If fitted properly, the goalie's knee should rest in the center of the knee cradle with the pad securely attached to the goal skate and properly strapped on the goaltender's leg. Generally, this will ensure that the pad breaks (bends) at the knee/shin and ankle as designed for optimal performance.

Will CCM come out with a black/black color scheme for any of their junior pads this coming spring? My son currently has the extreme flex II in black/black at 26+1....but now we're in need of a 28+1.

Asked by: FatCat
There is a possibility of a black/black scheme for the new line.

Is the white/black/red color combo the same as the senior r1.9? Do you have a picture of the junior r1.5 in white/black/red?

Asked by: Hippo15
Yes, the color scheme will be the same.
