Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic unit Very Large. This unit covers a huge amount of net, regardless if you're standing, crouching in bfly or in the ready stance. I noticed that as you lower your body, the unit pushes up quite well, especially the shoulder floaters, to give as much blocking surface as possible. The arms are well positioned and the seal in the 6/7 hole is very good. Depending on the adjustments one makes, more coverage should be extracted from the unit. Very mobile. Touching the back of the head, and across the chest are non-issues. Sure. It's a bit stiff still, but I think this unit will only get better as I break it in. I also noticed that the plating on the arms are more segregated and positioned smarter, therefore eliminating a lot of potential binding between the forearm - elbow floater - bicep plates. In case anyone was curious: The binding of the shoulder cap/arm joint area prevalent on the CL pro unit is gone. Very cool. When I tried it on with my pants on at home, moving and walking around; I noticed that I didn't even heat up. Usually any other unit I try on has me sweating bullets by the first 10 minutes with it on. Air flow in the arms have been exceptional, and the body, even though I like it tight up against me, did not trap heat. 3 games into it now and it's kept me relatively cool. No real heat spots. Very Simple. I appreciate and love versatility and one thing I've always disliked about the RBK chests are the fact that there's 158 straps on them. Adjustments take FOREVER. Anyone that's ever owned a P1 or ESPECIALLY a P4 will know what I'm talking about. CCM has taken away all the straps on the body for shoulder adjustments and use velcro tabs instead. They're clearly labeled, and are simple to use. I was able to raise the unit to the height I want and set the shoulder floaters in just a few minutes of playing with them. The 2 bottom torso straps are now made with thicker heavy duty elastic that retain their tightness better. The arms are held in by elastic straps on the arm that loops through nylon strips on the body unit. They have 2 height adjustments on them via a stitched down cinch in the middle of said nylon strap. All arm straps are now elastic and velcro, making adjustments quite easy. having to retighten or having straps come loose mid-play is now a thing of the past. Very Well designed. One large bonus to this new system other than time saved is that I no longer get the "Reebok Neck" where the unit drop below my neck so much it actually exposes the top of my sternum. The body also seems longer so the lower belly flap isn't sitting at my belly button. Suspender-less integration for anyone with 11K/20K/CL Pro pants will have no issues at all. For anyone who uses Reebok's ab-fit clip system, you still can. The loops are simply relocated to the sides, 2-3 inches below your arm pit. I tried it on with my 20K pants and found that it's a better location because it won't make the unit drag and drop forward as well as it's easier to pull the strap to cinch it up. For anyone that wants to put a strap in the back to tie with the pants, you can install a slick clip in the bottom loop that the torso elastic runs through on the back plate and then attach whatever strap/buckle/elastic you want to use. Unit I noticed is very secure and protective even when untucked. No noticeable gaps in protection especially in the lower belly. Good mobility and panels move well in place when tucked. Very Well Made. So far, anyways. All the materials are more substantial that previous units with the wanton use of double or heavy duty elastics and better fabrics. The materials don't seem as harsh as some of my old units and all the fabrics are taut with little slack. Compression molded pieces are used throughout instead of the old way of stuffing foam panels in a nylon pouch. The new nylon material that CCM uses seems to be higher density than the old nylon that everyone else uses. It's got a special weave that's soft to the touch, thicker than normal and has a bit of a sheen to it. I like this unit straight out of the box and it addresses all the issues I've had with my previous units from what I can see. This unit has been very well thought out versus the old RBK units! The arms move very well. Given that they weren't broken in. Everything stays in place. All the time. The lower ab shots and higher chest shots I used to be scared of are now a thing of the past. The problem I had with the flap interfering with the jock was gone too. I guess it was just the way I had it strapped at the time. Shots to the belly, shoulder floaters, bicep, elbow floater, and upper ribs were all met with a thud. you can still feel the impact a bit, but nothing close to having to worry. The elbow panels on either side of the elbows take bombs without much drama. The D3O works as advertised. I had one guy lean into a shot, square in the chest. I didn't grunt or wince. The rebound basically stopped dead and fell into my lap. Even the shooter came over and said "whoa. That was the weirdest thing I ever seen. I was expecting this massive rebound or your hand to cover it but the puck just disappeared!" I took a shot just beneath the collar, which was scary but didn't raise any real alarms. On the old unit I would've been wincing. Another slap shot hit me about an inch under the armpit, JUST below the yellow comfort edge of the rib blocks. pretty much felt nothing. Everything stayed square, massive and painless throughout the session. I don't think I've ever played with as much confidence as I have prior to using this unit!. I commend CCM for making a legitimate successor to the Premier line.
