A blocker isn’t just a blocker, and Vaughn is dead set on making sure their waffleboard is better than the rest. The XR Pro Carbon blocker is designed to provide unmistakable performance at a weight that can keep you going strong well into overtime, that is if you haven’t already put up a shutout.
The V7 XR is similar to the older V6 2200, but has some key upgrades to make it a truly better blocker. The front face and side protection both feature a reinforcement layer of carbon fiber to provide excellent protection, as well as an incredibly light weight and longevity to the unit.
To enhance stick control, Vaughn has made the gap between the forefinger and thumb larger, making it easier to manipulate the stick when passing or deflecting shots.
The durable VX suede palm is placed higher on the board, giving you more board below the hand for reaching out at those low shots. The V7 also features the hand retention system found on the LT98 Ventus, allowing you to adjust how tightly the blocker fits around your entire hand, and not just around your wrist like most units. The added cushioning on your hand behind the board further keeps you secure from any possible stingers, keeping you calm and confident between the pipes.
Measure your hand from the heel of the palm to the tip of the middle finger, then consult the chart below to find the size that will work for you.

Key to a Proper Fit:
The blocker should be fitted based on hand size. The goalie's fingers should be no more than 1/4" from the end of the fingers in the palm. If the fingers are too long, chances are the hand tabs that tie down the palm to the blocker are too large. This will cause the blocker to wobble, tilt or rotate on the goaltender's hand, seriously affecting control while limiting coverage (blocking surface).
