As supportive as these skates are, the 40K's are a great choice for goalies who play at a Beginner to Upper Intermediate level.  They're stiff and responsive enough to perform well at most levels of play, and they're durable enough so that even the recreational player can use them for years and years without fear of them breaking down prematurely.

The boot of the 40K has been designed to give goalies a quick response time, in the very comfortable boot .  The quarter package is made of an Elite Synthetic which is designed to provide enhanced forward flex & durability.  For comfort, the CCM 40K goal skate has a two-piece felt tongue for enhanced lace bite protection, and a brushed nylon fabric material.

The new Prolite GS cowling for 2016 has been redesigned and reinforced to make it lighter and stronger than ever.  The posts on the Prolite GS have been made taller for a more agressive push angle, meaning that the goalie's blades are in contact with the ice longer for more powerful movements in the crease.  The cowling comes standard with a Prolite G stainless steel runner, which can be removed easily if necessary.
