Chest & Arm Protection
If you ask a goalie where they prefer to make a save, most will tell you with the goalie glove, blocker or leg pads. But hockey is a fast game and many times the puck finds the goalie's chest protector, which makes this piece of equipment extremely important given it
protects some of the most important parts of your body. Chest protectors often look like something out of a Star Wars movie set - they cover your arm from wrist to shoulder and your front torso from the waist up, with the back and sides also covered.
The best quality chest protectors will cover all of these regions, but still be versatile enough to keep you mobile. A brand new chest protector will always be a little stiff and take some time to break in, so all of them will provide additional mobility
after some use. Also, the more segmented the protector, the more mobility as well - you'll find this on the higher quality chest protectors, along with lighter weight pads and more adjustment options. Pro Tip: Whether you tuck your c/a in your goalie pants or not, be sure to bring them along when trying your chesty on!
