NEW GOALIE CUSTOMIZER: Your Gear, Your Style, Your Design! DESIGN NOW >>
Shop Pure Goalie for chest and arm protectors engineered to shield the upper body from high-speed pucks, hard-hitting collisions, and painful slashes. Since goalies are always in the line of fire, their gear has to be tough enough for hours of heavy-duty play. Whether you’re a new goalie or an elite net defender, you need a rugged chest and arm protector to shield your body from damage.
Hockey goalie chest protectors feature a segmented construction that covers the upper body in HD foams and composite materials without restricting the range of motion. Choose between streamlined and bulky constructions to suit your defensive style. The agile goalie who relies on speed to catch pucks will appreciate an arm protector with a narrow profile and lightweight padding. A powerhouse goalie who prefers to deflect the puck using their stick and body should opt for a robust goalie chest protector with some extra mass.
Browse top-notch goalie chest and arm protectors from the most trusted brands in hockey, including Bauer, CCM, Vaughn, and Warrior. Bauer goalie chest protectors feature proprietary SHOCKLITE foams and Fuse Comp tech for pro-level coverage in a lightweight package. The Bauer Supreme MACH goalie chest and arm protector features an AMP 2.0 Hinge Arm construction that moves with the goalie for uninterrupted coverage. CCM goalie chest protectors offer hours of comfortable wear with a breathable AER-TEC ventilation system and durable mesh liners. The CCM EFlex 6 Pro comes with D3O® Smart Material incorporated at the sternum and collarbone to protect highly vulnerable points.

A hockey goalie chest protector should be loose enough for comfortable movement but tight enough so it doesn’t shift or slide on the body.
Determine a goalie’s chest protector size by adding together their height and arm span measurement in centimeters. Have the player stand up straight with their feet flat on the floor and their arms held out in opposite directions horizontal to the floor. Measure the player’s height from the top of their head to the floor. Then measure from fingertip to fingertip across the shoulders for their arm span. Add the two measurements together to determine what size you need in a youth, junior, intermediate, or senior chest protector.
Some brands use the height and arm span measurements separately to size chest and arm protectors, so we recommend consulting manufacturer size charts before making your final purchase. Check out the Pure Goalie chest and arm protector fitting guide for more information on measuring, sizing, and choosing upper-body gear.
The best way to break in a goalie chest protector is simply wearing it. A new goalie chest protector will feel more comfortable in as little as one week of regular wear.
No, but you should clean a hockey goalie arm and chest protector by wiping it down with cold water.
