NEW GOALIE CUSTOMIZER: Your Gear, Your Style, Your Design! DESIGN NOW >>
Outfit your Tyke in youth goalie leg pads that feature a streamlined construction for top-notch protection that won’t trip them up. Youth-level goalies earn a huge advantage in learning to defend the net at an early age. Not only do they master controlled, close-quarters skating at the start of their hockey career, but youth goalies also learn to rely on their leg pads for more than just lower-body defense.
The function of goalie leg pads is twofold: protection and performance. HD foams and rigid pad faces absorb and disperse forces away from the point of contact, reducing the chances of injury. The same wide pad faces serve as shields that block and redirect the puck. The PE-reinforced edges of hockey goalie leg pads support swift transitions into the butterfly positions and come optimized for speedy sliding.
We carry youth hockey goalie leg pads from the most trusted brands in hockey manufacturing, including CCM, Vaughn, and Bauer. Choose the CCM YTFlex 3 goalie leg pads if your child still needs help gearing up. These leg pads feature a parent-friendly velcro strap system that’s easy to use and comfortable for the player. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 goalie leg pads feature a deeper inner knee side panel that assists in balance and adds joint protection.

To measure for youth goalie leg pad size, have the player bend their knee slightly. Measure their shin from the middle of the knee to the ankle, in inches. Then measure from the middle of the knee to the middle of the shin. Add those two measurements and the player’s skate size to determine the correct goalie leg pad size. Youth goalie sizes in leg pads vary from 22” to 24”.
Consult our goalie gear fitting guides for tips and tricks about measuring goalie gear for any age range.
Youth goalie leg pads cost between $190 and $380.
