Bauer has upgraded the shell of the 950 with a new hybrid material called Kraibon, designed to decrease and dampen vibration. Combined with a textreme carbon top layer the shell of the mask is specifically engineered to absorb and dissipate impact energy.

This mask also features added protection in the cheeks, and forehead with Poron XRD, with a Defense Cloud Tech Crown a more comfortable liner that retains less water than its predecessor. Another upgrade is the DCT Ergo chin cup, a deeper chin cup to provide a more comfortable and improved fit.
