Bauer has introduced their revolutionary Speed Plate foot inserts which are designed to custom fit to each skater's foot shape. Through a heating process similar to the one used when you "bake" your skates, Bauer has been able to provide a completely customizable footbed. You might think to yourself, "Why so much effort for a foot bed?". The answer is easy. The footbed is as much of a part of the skate as the steel, outsole, and tongue are. Having a footbed that is customized completely for your foot helps promote better balance and stability, saving you energy with every stride!

*Remove insoles prior to skate baking procedure. Once baked, please insert insole back into the skate for optimal comfort and performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from improved my skating a lot! I am someone with a very high arch(weird foot) and i never seemed to find right insole for myself. Bauer speedplate was a lifechanger in that regard. I put them into oven and they molded right into my footshape. First time in life life i could say that my foot stayed straight in my skate. Sole was really connected to the bottom of skate now. Why i am giving it 4 out of 5 is bad durability. I have now used them for 4 months(i go on ice 3 times per week) and they are braking down - both have cracks now in heel area. I have glued those cracks together now and i can still use them but i think i soon have to order new ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All better AHHH!!! Instant change with the speed plates is. Fallen arches make it painful at times to skate. The skates feel better laready!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Transformed my skates and my game I put these in my Easton stealth rs skates and transformed them from torture devices to almost as comfortable as a pair of old sneakers. My shifts are longer, my feet don't hurt for days after a game, and most importantly, I'm skating faster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balance Improved! I wore my Vapor's for 6 months on standard footbeds, and having flat feet, I suffered during a hard skating sesh. I finally decided to try the speed plates, and I noticed an IMMEDIATE difference in the fit just during the cool off process. Once I hit the ice, I found myself gripping my edges harder & sturdier in a backwards stride and my overall balance was much better than before. Moreover, the skate just has a more natural feel around and under my foot. No more pain. I highly recommend for any skater of any experience level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from helped my skates feel even better bought these for my nexus 8000 8.5EE. Used the size 9 speed plate and baked my self. set at 175° and took 10 min for the thermo lines to disappear. I really love my nexus and with these it fit my arch and heel even better. I can't say about how long they last but they do feel very comfy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like them, but they break easy. Have had my 1X skates for 6 months, and my second pair of speed plates just cracked. I wish they lasted longer as they feel great on the feet. I skate everyday, and unfortunately they have not lasted at all for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The speed plate is great!!! They really do work wonders! These things really do improve acceleration and balance. I feel like my game increased significantly using the speed plate. I used super feet insoles prior to the speed plate, but still had some arch discomfort and didn't really notice my improvement. Get the speed plates, so much better than super feet or standard insoles. All pain gone, and noticeable increase in acceleration and balance. If they had these when I was growing up I probably would be wearing a Stanley Cup ring right now.

Do the speed plates need to be baked after buying them?

Asked by: Alex19
It is not absolutely needed, but for best fit baking the speed plate is recommended.

How are these in goalie skates?

Asked by: Jflan41
The Speed Plates were designed specifically for player skates. I have not had much feedback from goalies using the Speed Plates. Additionally, Bauer has not yet used them as stock inserts for goalie skates. That said, they should work for goalie skates and provide stability and comfort.

I just got a new pair of supreme 1s, and was wondering do I remove the existing insole before putting in the speed plate?

Asked by: Casey M
Yes, the speed plate replaces any existing insole.

Do these provide the same kind of benefit as superfeet?

Asked by: Mroy31
The Speed Plate insoles help to center the foot's connection to the skate, improving balance and energy transfer. Being thermoformable offers an added level of customization, allowing the Speed Plate to form to your foot specifically in order to offer a more supportive fit.

I have APX2 skates in size 9.0EE, should I get these in size 10 and then trim or size 9?

Asked by: bladerunner
I have heard of people getting the Speed Plates a size larger than skate size to ensure that there is no uncovered space in the toe. So, especially given your EE width, getting a size up in these would probably be a fine idea.

Even though these are designed for Bauer, will they work with CCM or even fit?

Asked by: Thockey8
These insoles can be used for other skates despite being designed for Bauer specifically. However, depending on the type of skate boot (width, size, model, etc.), they might fit some better than others.

I have Bauer Supremes 1.9, size 9 D, with the default size 8.5 composite power form fit insoles. Which size should I get, 8 or 9?

Asked by: B101
Get the size 9. If it's a little long you can trim the speed plate with a sharp pair of scissors.
