The Premier P2.9 Leg pads from CCM provide a lot of great new features at the mid-price point to provide the best possible performance. With a lighter weight, simplified strapping, speedskin technology, and upgrades to the core and knee landing this is the best price point CCM pad to date.

The Premier series from CCM has been an extremely popular design dating back to the Reebok days. The same shape and style of these pads continues this year on the P2.9. You will see the same pre-curved core shape and the solid seal inner calf for the best possible seal on the ice. The pre-curved core is coupled with a single break design for maximum coverage and stiffness at the top of the pad.

One of the more obvious updates on this year’s design in the all new strapping system. The quick motion strapping system is uniquely designed to provide the best comfort and feel but also the ultimate performance with driving into your butterfly. With the elastic strap found on the top of the inner calf channel the pad will respond to your movements quicker and allow the fastest possible butterfly and recovery. The nylon calf wrap strap allows you to dial in a looser or snugger fit while not giving out like a full elastic calf wrap might. And on the knee cradle a soft 3D grip foam is used for comfort while the actual knee block itself remains firm for faster movements and no energy lost in butterfly pushes.

The interior of the Premier P2.9 pads are constructed with litecore technology, a layer of stiffer foams that provide a structural integrity that will send out powerful rebounds while also reducing weight. Though this pad does not feature the Max Rebound technology found on the Premier II Pro pads the litecore technology will still provide an increased level of rebounds over previous models. The exterior of the leg pads is CCM’s SpeedSkin technology. SpeedSkin was released on the Extreme Flex III line and continues on the 2018 line. This embossed synthetic material provides a faster slide on the ice while also being more durable and standing up to the wear and tear of consistent use.

All the new features combined with a timeless design make the Premier P2.9 leg pads some of the best pads at the mid-price point for 2018.

CCM utilizes a "Floor to Knee" fit guide to determine the proper leg pad size to meet your needs.  To determine your "Floor to Knee" measurement, measure the distance from the floor (in bare feet) to the middle of the knee cap, straight up, knees slightly bent.  Find this measurement in the chart below, then look at the number above it to find your pad size.

If fitted properly, the goalie's knee should rest in the center of the knee cradle with the pad securely attached to the goal skate and properly strapped on the goaltender's leg. Generally, this will ensure that the pad breaks (bends) at the knee/shin and ankle as designed for optimal performance.
